Be A Farmer!
Last Sunday night, I was getting into our van with my three school-aged daughters. As often occurs, a “conversation” began among them as to who would get to sit on the front bench seat and who would have to sit on the back bench seat.
After a few exclamations of “I want the front,” “I had to sit in the back the last time,” and “You always get the front,” one of my daughters calmly and graciously offered to sit in the back. As we all stood still in a brief moment of silence, her younger sister turned around and said to her, “Thanks for being a farmer.”
“Why did you thank your sister for being a farmer?” I asked, unaware their Sunday School lesson that day had focused on serving as farmers, planting seeds of faith and harvesting the crop that grows.
My youngest daughter replied, “Because she was kind and giving. She did what Jesus would have done.”
How are you living out your faith? How are you being kind and giving? How are you being a farmer? Are you thanking those who are sharing their faith with you?
