By Lisa Holliday

Welcome!  Whether you have children in the KiDSCOR nursery, early childhood or elementary programs, you will find your weekly GPS activities right here!  May your family be blessed by God as you choose to spend time with each other and Him!

All KiDSCOR kids

Missions Project: During the month of September, the offering collected by KiDSCOR will be used to purchase band aids, toothpaste, toothbrushes, Kleenex and Chapstick for care kits.  These kits will be given to the children at our partner schools in Kansas City.  You will also be invited to donate these items.  Our goal is to assemble 2,500 care kits for kids!

Prayer:  Dear God, thank you for your love. Thank you for listening to us, caring for us and helping us.  Please guide us to love and serve you and all people.  Please help us learn about You and how to be your faithful followers.  We love you, God and we praise You.  In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Parent Point: Did you know that you are the most important person in your child’s life?  You are also the most important person in your child’s faith development, but you are not alone!  Your church family and KiDSCOR are here to help support, guide and share the journey with you every step of the way! As you follow Christ, your kids will learn to follow Christ.  They will learn to serve as you serve and speak kindly as you speak kindly. No one is perfect, and they will also learn to forgive as we forgive them and one another.  Follow Jesus and lead your kids to Him at the same time. Make sure and have fun along the way! Blessings to you!

Early Childhood

Faith Word:  SERVE

Bible words: “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15b

Family activity:

September 13th

Sing these words to the tune of “This Old Man” as your family mealtime prayer.

“God made you. God made me.

God made each of us differently.

We are all part of God’s great big family

Thank you God for making me!”

Pray for each person in your family and thank God for him or her!

September 20th

Families can look many different ways!  Sometimes kids live with both parents and some live with only their mom or dad.  Some kids are born into their family and some are adopted.  Some kids live with their grandparents or other relatives.  Kids in the same family can look the same or very different from each other.

As your child wakes up today, say a prayer together thanking God for your family.  Remind your child that your family is loved by God and is very important to Him.  Also remind your child he/she is part of God’s family!  Pray for other families, too and thank God for His Love.

Nursery:

Faith Word: SERVE

Family activity: As you rock your child, sing a simple faith song such as “Jesus Loves Me.” You can play a recording of the song instead if you would like.  Consider using your child’s name in place of the word, “me.”  Eye contact with your child and your arms wrapped around him/her will help your child to experience God’s love!
